EPHEMERAL TATTOO LOS ANGELES

Tattoos are getting even more popular than ever. With the help of technological improvements, it continuously evolves into a new era, and not a day goes by that we don't see further developments.

One of the recent developments brought us a new concept of tattooing with less commitment, called "Ephemeral tattoos."

WHAT IS AN EPHEMERAL TATTOO?

Ephemeral tattoos are real tattoos with special ink that fades in 9-15 months. It is applied using traditional tattoo equipment like machines and needles with no difference other than ink.

Traditional tattoos are all about keeping the ink underneath your skin forever. Ephemeral ink is designed to be broken down by your body, so it fades over time. This new development excites some people because it gives them a new choice, which means less commitment.

WHAT ARE THE RISKS OF EPHEMERAL TATTOOS?

According to co-founder Joshua Sakhai, this special ink is a product of 6 years of research and testing. After comprising 50 different formulations, they finally made it possible, Sakhai says.

"Our ink is made from materials that are FDA approved for use in cosmetics, medical devices, and drug products; and are also applied by real tattoo artists who have been in the industry for years," Sakhai adds.

The most considerable risk concerning Ephemeral Tattoos is the markings left on the skin after the ink fades. If an artist does the tattoo with less experience, there is a big chance that they will damage the skin in the application process, so it leaves a scar behind when all the ink is gone.

Especially after nine months, the leftover tattoo will look nothing like the initial design. So, the owner will carry an unrecognizable mark on their body until it fades completely.

AFTERCARE OF EPHEMERAL TATTOOS

The developer recommends using a different aftercare product other than a regular unscented moisturizer which will be provided by the artist who does the tattoo.

The healing process is a little longer than traditional tattoos. "How the tattoo looks over time is influenced by the healing process, so taking great care of it is critical. On average, the healing process takes four to six weeks, although you'll be able to enjoy your Ephemeral a few days after your visit," Sakhai explains.
